Weston project featured in Weston Wellesley Magazine

Our current project in Weston was recently featured in the article “Building energy-efficient homes to suit all stages of life” in the WellesleyWeston Magazine summer 2021 issue. Designed by architect Ken Tatro of the architecture firm Christopher P. Williams, the home utilizes five Passive House principles: super-insulated walls, roofs and floors, airtight construction, high-performance glazing of windows and glass doors, thermal-bridge-free detailing, and heat recovery ventilation to exhaust stale indoor air and bring in fresh outdoor air. The home has a free standing pavilion the size of a two car garage with solar panels on the roof. Auburndale Builders was able to use reclaimed foam for insulating the walls and reduced the concrete used by using wood flooring in the basement instead of a traditional slab.
